Power Up: Learn How To Create Harmony At Work & More At Conference
Who hasn’t had a work experience that incites tension and discomfort? And who doesn’t want to change that?
How you lead with a more positive culture is the centerpiece of one of several roundtables at the Power Up Conference & Concert, Lead Your Intention, on Women’s Equality Day in person and virtually August 26.
Lori Severson, owner and leadership coach of InspirAction Ink, leads “Creating More Harmony at Work: A Journey for All Leaders,” will deliver tools to review harmonic leadership pathways; assess where participants are personally, determine where they want to be and then create action for how to move forward on their career journey.
“Participants can expect self-insight and ideas and tips to help them navigate the working world more successfully as leaders,” Severson says. “Even without a leadership title, we are all leaders at work and lead in our own lives.”
She adds, “Women coming together create an amazing synergy.. At events like Power Up, we gather to learn, inspire, and support each other. This conference offers experts, tools, and information to help women see they are not alone, they can do this, and help them gain more momentum for the way forward to a better future for all of us.”
Taking into account her decades of experience, Severson says she offers a unique Harmonic Leadership Model. Severson is on a mission to harmonize the workplace and to offer the strategies, tools and skills for leaders to detoxify their workplace culture.
Participants at the Power Up Conference will receive a free personal Core Values Index assessment link that will help them lower discord at work, Severson says. “This assessment identifies your core values that drive your behavior. It is a great tool for leaders to understand how conflict emerges and how to reduce it as well. Additionally, I’ll offer a free post conference group debrief for those that want to learn more about their CVI results and how to apply this knowledge to lower discord at work.”
In a new study from the American Psychological Association, one-fifth of all employees surveyed said they work in a toxic environment—and it is making them sick.
“In APA’s 2023 Work in America workforce survey, 19% of respondents labeled their workplace as toxic. More than one in five respondents (22%) said their work environment has harmed their mental health.”

APA reports, “The U.S. Surgeon General’s office underscored the impact of toxic work cultures in 2022 with its Framework for Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being. Chronic stress from workplace abuse can lead to depression, heart disease, cancer, and other illnesses, Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy, MD, wrote.”
For many entrepreneurs and those working in startups, the expectation is to grin and bear a toxic workplace environment.
