The Power to Create Opportunity Access

I started my nonprofit career as a special assistant to a hospital administrator.

After two years, I became an analyst, researching problems and developing solutions to help physicians and their teams. Since then, I have gained more than 20 years’ experience in nonprofit management, including global executive management. I oversee the strategic vision, implementation, and execution of the mission for organizations. As an executive, it has been most rewarding to connect people to resources and to work for mission-driven organizations.

Three years ago, my mother experienced a traumatic work-related injury resulting in hair loss and damage to her scalp. Her injury led me to research ingredients and formulate a blend to help balance the scalp. Today, it gives me immense joy that my blend aided in healing her scalp and her hair eventually returned to normal. I continue to make small batch orders by word of mouth.

During the discovery process, I learned that women and founders of color face the greatest opportunity gaps in their entrepreneurial journey. This inspired me to want to change the narrative and help these founders.

I decided to combine my expertise connecting others to resources with my desire to help other women and founders of color. As a result, I founded the Global Brand Expansion (GBE) Lab, a tech-enabled educational and financial startup, to close opportunity gaps for women and founders of color through training, resources, and access to capital.

My goal is to launch the first training for early-stage brands in 2022, starting with beauty, health and wellness brands, e-commerce, and tech-enabled retail verticals beginning in the New York metro area in 2022..
