The Power To Change The Narrative
By Chanel Nicole Scott
“If they could see me now, what would they think of me?”
When I left Nashville, I was broken, lost, and without hope for a brighter future. I was heartbroken, jobless, and without any prospect of recovery, healing, or prosperity.
After my time in Nashville, I lived the darkest days of my life. To make matters worse, I knew that those in Nashville who knew my story or pieces of it only thought the worst of me. I despise being misunderstood, and even though I left so much of my truth unsaid, staying was more traumatic than leaving.
If I could walk back into that office, I wouldn’t say a word. I’d just let them see what the Lord has done because I’m not what broke me, I’m a product of it. Out of brokenness came the revelation of the divine treasure within me as I emerged with a change of address, new phone number, new home in a new city, and even a new, signature hairstyle as seen on CheMinistry, my new special on Fox Soul.
I won’t say that I bounced “back,” but rather “into” a more purposeful output, facilitating life-changing conversations with celebrities and influencers on their journey of finding and maintaining purposeful relationships.
If they search my name now, they'll find a new story about me, one of triumph, perseverance, and the pursuit of my life’s purpose. I'm not the person I was when I left Nashville, nor am I the person they expected me to be forever. What you see now is the healthy, healed, whole version of me, the me I was always meant to be! I'm living proof that if you keep the faith amid brokenness, you can change your story and with it, you have the power to change your narrative.
