The Power to Care for Your Mental and Emotional Wellbeing While Trying to Conceive
By Josephine Atluri
I created my modern day family of seven children via international adoption, In Vitro Fertilization, and surrogacy.
When my partner and I began our family creation journey 18 years ago, we didn’t have the benefit of support groups whether in person, online or via social media. Thus, we felt isolated and stigmatized in our inability to conceive children and decision to pursue alternative methods of becoming parents. Unfortunately, suffering in silence and shame resulted in detrimental effects on our mental and emotional well-being.
In an effort to help other people trying to conceive feel seen, heard and supported in their path to parenthood, I have written a great deal about my personal experiences, lessons learned and fertility mindfulness practices aimed at providing empowerment and inspiration.
It is my passion to spread the importance of fertility mindfulness for everyone trying to conceive and thus, I began Josephine Atluri Mindfulness coaching. I provide women trying to conceive with 1:1 sessions in fertility and pregnancy coaching and mindfulness. In order to make fertility well-being more accessible and approachable, I also created an online self-guided mindfulness course for those trying to conceive.
It is my hope that aspiring parents have the tools and resources to care for their mental and emotional well-being as they traverse through the oftentimes challenging journey to becoming a parent.
