TAKE THE LEAD’S 50 WOMEN CAN CHANGE THE WORLD ANNOUNCES  2019 FINANCE AND HEALTHCARE PROGRAMS

Attendees Will Transform Their Relationship with Power, Secure Increased Work Recognition, and Forge New Partnerships

NEW YORK, NY – April 5, 2019 – Take The Lead (https://www.taketheleadwomen.com) today announced two 2019 programs in its 50 Women Can Change the World program – 50 Women Can Change the World in Finance (https://www.50womencan.com/finance) and 50 Women Can Change the World Healthcare Leadership Program (https://www.azwihc.org/50-women-can-healthcare-leadership-program).

“These programs are critical in providing practical tools that women can use to further advance in the workplace and achieve parity alongside their male counterparts,” says Gloria Feldt, the co-founder and president of Take The Lead and the creator of 50 Women Can Change the World.

Second Annual 50 Women Can Change the World in Finance Program
50 Women Can Change the World in Finance comes at a time when women are making gains in the financial world – for example, the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ have recently promoted women to top leadership positions – but still have a long way to go to reach gender parity. Women comprise between 30 and 57 percent of U.S. financial industry employees, but only 13 to 30 percent of U.S. financial industry executive and senior-level roles, depending on sector, according to Catalyst. “It’s vital for members of the Finance cohort to learn the skills they need to accelerate their careers and contribute to the continued growth of women in financial industry leadership positions,” says Feldt.

The Finance program will bring together influential women leaders and emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds to create a new narrative for themselves around individual personal power and use it to contribute at a higher level within their organizations and drive industry change. The program kicks off on May 3-4 and concludes September 12-13, 2019. It will take place both online and in-person in New York City. Program leaders are Laura Smith Dunaief, lead trainer and director of Take The Lead’s Leadership Ambassador program, and Gloria Feldt.

Second Annual 50 Women Can Change the World Healthcare Leadership Program
The 2019 50 Women Can Change the World Healthcare Leadership Program will gather inspiring and influential women healthcare leaders to build a vibrant sisterhood that will advance their careers while changing the world. The program will address the unique opportunities and challenges experienced by women in today’s healthcare industry. All sessions will be held in Phoenix, April 25-26, May 22 and June 26, 2019.

“Gender parity continues to be a major concern in the healthcare industry,” observes Lisa A. Mead, program leader. Mead, whose work focuses on healthcare consulting, coaching and leadership development for women in healthcare, is the founder of Arizona Women in Healthcare (https://www.azwihc.org) and a Leadership Ambassador for Take The Lead. Not a single woman serves as a CEO of a Fortune 500 healthcare company and fewer than 25 percent of healthcare company board members are women. At this rate, women won’t reach 50/50 gender parity on healthcare boards until 2049, according to Rock Health. “Members of the cohort will explore what’s behind this and how to overcome those barriers to accelerate their own career.”

About the Programs
Attendees will go through an intensive multi-month program that combines virtual and immersive in-person sessions, as well as personalized, one-on-one coaching. The program’s uniqueness is found in its research-and experienced-based curriculum developed by Feldt and centered on changing the power paradigm and learning the 9 Leadership Power Tools.

“The training will teach participants how to lead themselves, their careers and organizations in a holistic manner,” says Feldt. “Each attendee will take away greater practical knowledge as well as an enhanced understanding of how to use their own power that will equip them to rise in their careers.” Outcomes will be measured in three- and six- month intervals, with continued support from Take The Lead’s 50 Women Can Change the World, which acts as a partner in cohort members’ long-term success.

Cohort members will transform their relationship with power, secure increased work recognition and forge new partnerships. The program has made a difference in attendees’ professional lives. Says Valerie Brown Grant, a 50 Women Can Change the World in Finance program graduate, “A year ago at your workshop I set my personal action plan goal to become a vice president at my firm. I used the Use What You’ve Got Power Tool to differentiate myself and demonstrate my value to the company. Today, I was informed I am being promoted to vice president.”

Anne Parmley, SVP at Pearson and a Take The Lead executive leadership program graduate, says, “The Take The Lead programs provide a safe and supportive environment for women climbing in their careers to have thoughtful and productive conversations about where they are and where they are going in their leadership journeys. You walk away with a plan and intent to take yourself to the next level, professionally and personally.”
