ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Mitzi Krockover, M.D. is a Partner at SSB Solutions, a health care management consulting, development and investment firm. She is also a Managing Director of Golden Seeds, an angel investment organization dedicated to funding early-stage women-led companies; she serves as co-chair of the Golden Seeds Health Care Sector Group and is a founding member and co-leader of the Arizona Chapter of Golden Seeds. Most recently she founded Woman Centered LLC, and launched the Beyond the Paper Gown podcast, both of which aim to inform, inspire and engage women so that they can achieve optimal health.
Dr. Krockover has been a leader in the area of women’s health and women’s issues. She was the founding Medical Director of the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women’s Health Center, designated a Center of Excellence by Department of Health and Human Services. She then served as Vice President of Women’s Health for Humana Inc. where she was the company’s chief healthcare strategist and spokesperson for women’s health. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Women’s Health Initiative of Springboard, an organization that provides investment in women-led companies in the life sciences and technology and an Ambassador for HIT Lab’s Women’s Health Initiative.
Dr. Krockover has served on both private corporate and non-profit boards. Currently, she is President of the Institute for Mental Health Research. Additionally, she is a member of the National Council of the Institute for Public Health at Washington University, the Washington University Phoenix Cabinet, and the New American Council for Arts and Design at Arizona State University.
A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with an AB in Arts and Sciences, Dr. Krockover received her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University.
