All You Need Is This Course: 9 Leadership Power Tools Go Virtual June 1
The world has changed drastically since February in every possible way across the world—for women especially. And while many are learning to adapt their professional and personal lives to what is the new COVID-19 normal, adjusting to the status quo is not the only choice.
Transformation is another.
“We are teaching women they can change the mold, they do not have to accept the way things are,” says Gloria Feldt, co-founder and president of Take The Lead. “You can create a movement, have a strategic plan and implement it now.”

That is the theme and mission of Feldt’s new virtual course, “9 Leadership Power Tools To Accelerate Your Career,” launching June 1 through Take The Lead. In 13 modules designed by Feldt, the course is available 100 percent online through Kajabi, with registrants receiving a link for the self-pacing course. Particpants can complete it over a week, or take up to a year.
“We focused on the essentials so people can get all of our curriculum in this new completely self-study course,” says Feldt, who has adapted the comprehensive power tools course offerings into a manageable suite of modules.
This innovative offering arrives at a perfect time for women in leadership and entrepreneurship, who are looking to take advantage of the moment to craft the course of the career of their dreams.
Globally, the pandemic has disproportionately affected women economically, personally, physically, mentally and professionally. Furloughs, layoffs, burdens of childcare, homeschooling, elder care and job elimination are crises for millions of women.

“The COVID-19 crisis will have significant implications for U.S. investments in global women’s economic empowerment, including the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) initiative, the Development Finance Corporation’s 2X Women’s initiative, and U.S. investment in the Women Entrepreneurs Financing Initiative (We-Fi). The gender and social norm manifestations of COVID-19 present an urgent need for governments, businesses, community leaders, and decisionmakers to act,” according to Relief Web International.
“The International Labor Organization estimates that 195 million jobs could be eliminated globally due to the pandemic, with a majority in sectors predominated by women,” Relief Web reports. “Furthermore, over 740 million women around the world work in the informal sector and as low-wage workers, employment that is vulnerable to elimination due to COVID-19 and which often lacks protections against exploitation and harassment. The 26% gender gap in labor force participation now seems to be widening further and the U.S. Department of Labor reported in April 2020 that women held 60% of the 700k jobs that have been eliminated in the U.S. so far due to COVID-19.”
This global labor shift allows for a new normal in reaction to the crisis, but also for a proactive, intentional creation of new dreams.

Stacey Epstein, chief marketing and customer experience officer at Service Max, writes in Fast Company that COVID-19 is allowing for the possibility of the emergence of new female leaders in organizations and new ways of creating the organizational culture.
“Having more diversity in leadership positions is good for us all, just as having one or both parents actively parenting at home is best for our kids. No one, regardless of gender, should ever be made to feel they have to choose between pursuing a big career and being a good and present parent. As we are doing in this time of COVID-19, let’s collectively work to create a mindset that allows for both—forever,” Epstein writes.
This notion of transformation and changing the power paradigm that defines your life is at the center of Feldt’s new online course that includes the optional text book of Feldt’s bestseller, No Excuses: 9 Ways Women Can Change how We Think About Power.
A participant can also download the workbook and have access to materials and well as the scores of videos in each module.
A central module of the course is, “What’s Power Got to Do With It?” and offers exercises in the workbook as well as the core transformational power concepts Feldt has developed over her successful leadership career.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions directly of Feldt via Facebook Live weekly discussions. Participants can explore their relationship with power and develop their own “power to” stories, that touch on implicit bias and changing the power paradigm with a supportive cohort of other women.
“You can identify your own strengths and the value your bring, but also recognize for yourself the points of power and understand who you need to build relationships with to advance,” Feldt says.
With downloadable exercises and video lessons in what Feldt calls counter-intuitive tools, Feldt says that “embrace controversy, carpe the chaos and create a movement” are tools that apply directly to this disruptive moment in history.
“People follow people with a point of view. See the potential, seize the moment,” Feldt says. “Be transparent about your values and differentiate yourself.”
At this time, Feldt is on target with capturing the virtual market in training and helping women shape their careers.
In 2019, months before the global pandemic reshaped the global economy and workplace culture, E Learning Industry predicted that by 2025, “e-learning will have a global market value of $325 billion. The reasons for this explosion in value come on the back of several main drivers: the need to educate vast numbers of people at low cost, the falling price of learning solutions, the needs of the modern workforce to engage in life-long learning, and the fact that learning through an internet portal is often more convenient than going to school.”
Now that COVID-19 has changed how people work, live and learn, virtual training has become essential and courses like Take The Lead’s new 9 Leadership Power Tools stands at the forefront of innovative online education and training.
According to EU Startups, “The recent global Coronavirus pandemic is changing business, work and life as we know it. It could be one of the most significant events of the decade as the ongoing outbreak has provisionally put an end to our busy, social and professional lives. Whether for a career switch or simply to boost your job prospects or grow your current business, learning new skills online to achieve your professional goals is without a doubt a constructive way to cope with the current self-isolation.”
Connecting with Take The Lead’s new virtual course also offers a fresh cohort of peers to connect with in discussion groups and on weekly Facebook Live chats. Early interest in the course shows that participants will range from early and mid-career to C-suite across multiple disciplines.
While many are shifting their behaviors and mindsets in this new work landscape to survive, Feldt says this unique, forward-thinking and transformational course will serve women “who can apply this to themselves. If your goal is to get your next career step, then get people around you to believe in you.”
Being authentic, “with clear, crisp ideas,” offers each participant their own “Power To” moment, and helps each one discover “how do people perceive you, how do you show up and what do you want people to know about you.”
For every participant, the culmination of the course is in the customized development of a Strategic Leadership Action Plan each person will develop for herself and in the process, have an accountability partner to help finalize it.
The course divides the 9 Leadership Power Tools into three segments with the first three tools serving as self-definitional; tools 4-6 as counter-intuitive and tools 7-9 working as change leadership.
Feldt says the final phase is assessing the participant’s place on the power continuum. “In the redux, you can see if there is movement toward greater comfort with higher power and intentions. And there always is.”
